Jim Norton is an active trumpeter in the South Jersey area. He has been principal trumpet with the Philharmonic of Southern New Jersey since September 2003. He is the fanfare trumpeter at The Mansion on Main Street in Voorhees. He also plays lead trumpet for community theatre and High School productions.

Jim was 1st chair with the Tri-County Symphonic Band for 14 years. In the mid 90's he was principal trumpet with the Rowan Community Orchestra; and played with the Bach / Handel Chorale in Jim Thorpe, Pa. along with John Thyhsen.

Jim teaches private lessons at home and adjunct in the Pennsville School District. He has also coached the trumpet section for the Garden State Youth Pops Orchestra.

Jim's teachers include Bill Garton, Tony Marchione, Mike Natale, John Thyhsen and most recently Bryan Appleby-Weinberg.

Jim is a salesman for Heritages Wholesale in Thorofare, NJ.

Jim lives in Pitman with his wife, Becky, and their three cats. He has a son who lives in Pennsauken, NJ.
