Meet our next conductor
Join the Philharmonic of Southern New Jersey for another exciting season. And a truly unique opportunity to help chart the orchestra’s future.

With Music Director Philip F. Travaline preparing to enjoy a richly earned semi-retirement, we’ll debut three talented young conductors to step up to his place on the podium. The candidates—Matthew Oberstein, Brian Norcross, and Reuben Blundell—were selected from among more than 70 applicants from for their conducting skill, musicality, and performance presence. As you can see, each will be conducting a subscription concert during the 2011-2012 season. And since we wouldn’t make such a major decision without you, our audience, you’ll have an opportunity to tell us which one you think should lead the orchestra into the future.

Whatever the outcome, you can still be sure one thing will never change: The Philharmonic will continue to provide the finest in classical music, right here in your backyard, on convenient Sunday afternoons, and at the same affordable subscription prices.
